THE PROBLEMS OF VOCABULARY MASTERY OF CONTENT WORDS IN SIMPLE SENTENCES FACED BY EIGHT GRADE STUDENTS’ OF MTsN 2 PALANGKA RAYA

The main purpose of the study is to describe some problems as follows: The the Students problem of vocabulary mastery content words in the simple past tense and describing of the problem in using vocabulary content words in the simple past tense. The research method used descriptive statistic, which the writer want to know the describing of the problem faced by the students in using vocabulary content words. To collected the data which is used test, and documentation. The analysis of the data used collecting data, coding, scoring, and got the conclution. The subject of the research was first grade of MTsN 2 Palangka Raya class VIII A and B of 70 students.
The research findings shown: some problems faced by the students of indicated vocabulary content words in the simple sentence as verb and differenciate them. This problem also came from intralingua, first language, and translation. The students can’t understand how to used verb in the simple sentence.
The result of the test which was given, the students couldn’t be differenciate which one present tense, past tense and continoues tense, yet. Most of them still have problem in their memorizing of vocabularies. Some of them chosen to give blank space in their answer sheet or didn’t answer anything in some number of test. The main problem faced the students is using vocabulary
content words as verb and noun in the simple past tense. Actually, the students still neen vocabulary to done the test which was given. altough while the test hold, they were asked to close the dictionary and other book.
